Your lawn's the first thing people see when they pull up — and in the Frankston, Bayside or Mornington Peninsula climate, it doesn't take much for a good lawn to grow out of control.
A couple of weeks of rain and warmth and your lawn can get away from you fast. Whether it's your home, a rental, or a commercial block, a patchy or overgrown lawn can be tricky to manage.
We're Greenfleet Gardens — a small, hands-on crew based right here in Frankston. Same faces turn up to your place each visit, which means we actually get to know your lawn and property — what grass it is, how it's growing, and what it needs to get the absolute best out of it at an affordable price.
No missed visits. No rushed jobs. No chasing us up wondering if we're still coming.
Just a lawn that's mowed properly, on schedule, by the best local Frankston lawn mowing business who know what they're looking at.

We actually know turf. Sir Walter Buffalo, Kikuyu, Couch, Fescues, Rye — they're not all the same. Cut Kikuyu too short in winter and you'll be looking at bare, brown patches by spring. Buffalo needs a higher cut year-round or it thins out. It's a small thing most mowing services don't bother with, but it's the difference between a lawn that just gets by and one that actually looks good and holds its colour throughout most of the year.
Proper gear, proper finish. Ride-on mulch mower for the bigger blocks, self-propelled mowers for the tight access spots, and every path and surface gets edged and blown down before we leave. Catching clippings or mulch mowing and cutting up into a finer pieces, rather than left in clumps to yellow the grass underneath — it's the difference between a proper mow and a rushed whipper-snip-and-go.
You won't need to chase us. Weekly, fortnightly, or four-weekly — once you're booked in, we turn up. We text a reminder the day before with a rough time, so you're never left wondering.
We look after the lawn, not just cut it. Fertilising, weed and disease control, aeration and dethatching, top dressing with our own sandy mix and manure blend, irrigation checks, and seasonal renovations to get your lawn through a Melbourne winter and out the other side in decent shape. Mowing keeps it tidy. This is what keeps it actually healthy.
We're fully insured. Public liability cover, sensible safety practices and no risky shortcuts — straightforward as that.
Not happy with a mow? Tell us within 24 hours and we'll come back and fix it — no charge, no argument. It doesn't happen often, but if it does, we'd rather put it right than have you switch to someone else.
Melbourne's bayside and Frankston's climate swings enough that a lawn almost needing weekly cuts in November can sit almost dormant by July — here's roughly what to expect:
Spring (Sep–Nov): Growth kicks in hard, especially on Kikuyu and Buffalo lawns. This is usually when a fortnightly schedule needs to shift to weekly, and it's the best window for fertilising and any lawn renovation work if required.
Summer (Dec–Feb): Fast growth continues if there's enough water around. Mowing height matters more here — cutting too short in the heat stresses the grass and opens the door to weeds.
Autumn (Mar–May): Growth slows. Good time for aeration, light top dressing, and getting the lawn set up to handle winter without thinning out.
Winter (Jun–Aug): Most lawns slow right down and some Kikuyu and Couch lawns go semi-dormant and lose colour — that's normal, not a sign anything's wrong. Four-weekly visits are usually enough, mostly to keep growth and weeds in check.
If you're not sure what your lawn needs right now, send us a photo and we'll tell you straight.
"I have been using Greenfleet's services for over 12 months now and Trent has been consistently fantastic to deal with. Greenfleet Gardens is run by Trent Perry and a small, tight crew of three to four, based in Frankston. Trent moved down from Mildura just over 10 years ago to start the business, and built it on a simple idea — top quality work at a fair price, done by people who actually care how it turns out. Sarah, Kim and Angelo above are still saying the same thing years later.
Residential homes, private estates, rental and investment properties, holiday houses, body corporates and strata, commercial and retail sites, industrial properties, schools, grounds maintenance, and council-managed grounds across Frankston, Bayside and the Mornington Peninsula.
How often should I get my lawn mowed? Most residential lawns in Frankston do well on a fortnightly cut through Autumn, Summer & spring, stretching to four-weekly over Winter when required. Commercial and body corporate sites are usually fortnightly or monthly depending on how the grounds are used.
Do I need to be home for the mow? No — most of our regular clients aren't home when we come through. We text a reminder the day before so you know we're on the way.
What if my lawn's really overgrown? That's fine, it happens more than you'd think. Send us photos and we'll quote it as a one-off clean-up before getting you onto a regular schedule.
Do you service my suburb? We cover the following areas: Frankston, Langwarrin, Mornington, Mount Eliza, Mount Martha, Somerville, Carrum, Chelsea, Patterson Lakes, Bonbeach, Seaford, Karingal, Langwarrin South, Frankston South, Baxter & surrounding suburbs. We can also travel further for large jobs.
